Late / Absence Procedure

Wimbish Primary Academy starts at 8:30AM. Registration closes at 8.40am. Arrival between 8.40-8.45am is marked as late and arrival after that is deemed unauthorised. If we do not hear from a parent or carer as to why a child is late or absent, we will call to ascertain a reason. We request that parents/carers call each day of an absence for sickness.

The school week is 32.5 hours.

If your child is persistently late or absent, you will receive a letter from the Headteacher which explains the importance of regular and punctual attendance.  You may be called by the Education Welfare Officer if lateness continues a regular basis.  We award good and punctual attendance with certificates on a regular basis and attendance figures are monitored carefully by our board of Governors.
