The Royal Institution – Visited Wimbish

On Friday 19th April we welcomed Dr Alvena Kureshi from the Royal Institution, she came to deliver workshops to the whole school on explosive food

We learnt about the digestive system and how certain foods react with things. There were lots of whooshes, bangs and explosions from the experiments and lots of shrieks, gasps and laughter from the children!

The staff also had a professional development session where they focussed on the teaching of science.

We had over 40 people attend the session after school which was amazing, lots of adult volunteers, who were keen to get involved with the experiments. We are hoping you all enjoyed it as much as we did.
