Year 6 pupil Crucial Crew

On Tuesday 3rd June, Mrs Winfield took year 6 to Bridge End Gardens in Saffron Walden. We managed to dodge the rain and have a quick picnic, before meeting the staff of Crucial Crew. We were given a brief intro into the topics the children would be learning about this year. Our first safety talk was by (Youth Unity) who discussed the dangers of Vaping to the children. Our next station was all about shoplifting, where a police officer showed the children a scenario. This involved a member of the public stealing from a shop, and asked the children to help him with the description of the perpetrator’s and explained the implications of shop lifting. The next two stations were about Social media and being a good citizen, the children learnt all about what anti social behavior is, and how to keep safe online. Our last two stations were all about Health relationships and water safety.

Throughout the workshops it was noted by several members of staff on the excellent participation and contributions from the children at Wimbish Primary academy. It was a very informative afternoon for all.
