KS2 pupils ‘bring to life’ their study of black history with a workshop by Saffron Walden-based artist, Nadia Koo.

The pupils learnt about the colourful influences behind her artwork with a special lesson at the school. Later, it was their turn to showcase their skills with each pupil painting a historical and influential black figure which they have been learning about in lessons.

This workshop provided the opportunity to not only educate pupils on the importance of celebrating different heritages but to also learn new skills and develop expressing themselves through the form of art”.

The pupils study Black History during KS2. The artwork produced by the pupils during the workshop will be displayed at the school for all to enjoy.

Nadia Koo, whose work is influenced by her childhood visits to Dominica, nature and the sea, is exhibiting at Church Street Gallery in Saffron Walden. To learn more about her work, please visit: https://www.churchstreetgallery.co.uk/nadia-koo
