Meet The Team: Ms Lizzie Beecroft-Sullivan
I grew up in Great Dunmow, which is a small town near Saffron Walden. I studied History at Queen Mary University of London and volunteered at a primary school while in my final year, which inspired me to complete my initial teacher training. After I graduated in 2014, I completed a PGCE in General Primary Education at the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education.
When I first qualified, I worked at a 4-form entry junior school in Ely and moved to the Meadow Primary School in 2017. I have taught from EYFS to Year 6 and believe strongly in the entitlement of all children to have access to high-quality, inspiring teaching.
At the Meadow, I have had the opportunity to further my interest in equitable education through roles such as Pupil Premium Co-ordinator, SENCo and Senior Mental Health Lead. I firmly believe that inclusive practice is key to effective teaching; using scaffolding, adaptive strategies, and technology to meet the needs of all pupils – always keeping the child at the centre!
I’m very excited to have taken on the new role of SENCO/Assistant Headteacher at Wimbish Primary Academy this year. I’m delighted (and very lucky) to have the opportunity to work across two schools (the Meadow and Wimbish Primary Academy) with such a fantastic team of colleagues.
